Shipping Policy

This Shipping Policy outlines the terms and conditions for all shipments handled by DeliTrans, a US-based courier company providing domestic and worldwide delivery services. By using our Services, you agree to comply with this policy, in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

1. General Shipping Information

A. Service Availability

DeliTrans offers a range of services including standard, expedited, and specialized logistics solutions for domestic (within the USA) and international destinations. Service availability and transit times are subject to geographic location, customs regulations, and local operational constraints.

B. Service Commitment

While we strive to provide timely delivery, all transit times provided are estimates and are not guaranteed, especially for international shipments which may be subject to customs delays.

C. Weight and Dimension Limits

All shipments must adhere to the maximum weight and dimension limits specified for the selected service. Shipments exceeding these limits may be subject to additional fees, delays, or refusal of service.

2. Pricing and Billing

A. Quoted Rates

Shipping rates are calculated based on the weight, dimensions, destination, and selected service level. Rates provided at the time of booking are estimates based on the information you provide.

B. Dimensional Weight

Rates may be calculated based on the greater of the actual weight or the dimensional weight (volumetric weight). Dimensional weight is calculated using the formula: $(\text{Length} \times \text{Width} \times \text{Height}) / \text{Dimensional Factor}$.

C. Surcharges and Adjustments

DeliTrans reserves the right to adjust the final billing weight and dimensions after inspection. You will be billed for any discrepancies, including but not limited to:

  • Weight and dimension discrepancies.
  • Remote area or extended service area surcharges.
  • Fuel surcharges (which fluctuate).
  • Handling fees for oversized or non-conveyable packages.

3. Packaging and Preparation

A. Sender Responsibility

The sender is solely responsible for ensuring that all items are properly and securely packaged to withstand normal courier handling processes. Packaging must protect the contents and prevent injury or damage to other shipments, equipment, or personnel.

B. Labeling

All shipments must have clear, legible, and non-obstructed labels that include accurate sender and recipient addresses, and any required tracking or service information. Old labels or markings must be removed.

4. International Shipments and Customs

A. Documentation

The sender is responsible for providing all necessary and accurate documentation required for customs clearance in the destination country (e.g., Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin). Failure to provide correct documentation will result in shipment delays and potential return or disposal.

B. Duties, Taxes, and Fees (D&T)

For international shipments, all duties, tariffs, VAT, and customs clearance fees are the responsibility of the recipient, unless the sender has specifically selected and paid for a service that includes these charges (Delivered Duty Paid – DDP).

  • If the recipient refuses to pay the D&T, the sender will be held liable for all charges, including return shipping fees and any associated administrative costs.

C. Inspection

All international shipments are subject to inspection and potential delay by customs authorities in the country of destination or transit. DeliTrans is not liable for costs or delays arising from customs inspections or procedures.

5. Prohibited and Restricted Items

DeliTrans adheres to strict regulations regarding prohibited items for carriage. Shipments containing the following, among others, will not be accepted:

  • Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) not properly declared and packaged.
  • Explosives, firearms, and ammunition.
  • Illegal goods or controlled substances.
  • Perishable goods (unless utilizing an approved specialized service).
  • Items restricted by the IATA (International Air Transport Association) or any applicable governmental body.

Note: The sender is responsible for checking and complying with the Prohibited and Restricted Items list available on the DeliTrans website, which may vary by destination.

6. Claims and Liability

Our liability for loss or damage to any shipment is strictly limited. Please refer to Section 6 of the DeliTrans Terms of Service for full details on Limitation of Liability and the Claims Procedure.

7. Undeliverable Shipments

A shipment may be deemed undeliverable if:

  • The recipient’s address is incorrect or incomplete.
  • The recipient refuses to accept delivery.
  • The recipient refuses to pay customs duties and taxes.
  • The shipment contains prohibited items discovered during transit.

In the event a shipment is deemed undeliverable, DeliTrans may attempt to return the shipment to the sender, often at the sender’s expense. If return is not possible or feasible, DeliTrans reserves the right to dispose of the shipment without any liability to the sender or recipient.
